Description

The Silver-spotted Skipper (Epargyreus clarus) is a medium-sized butterfly with dark brown wings, an orange patch on the forewings, and a distinctive silvery-white spot on the hindwings, commonly found in gardens, fields, and woodlands across North America.

Range

It is found throughout the state except the northeast corner. More common the further south you go.

Flight

Overwinters in chrysalis, and can emerge as early as late-may and can fly until October (depending on the weather)
