Description

The Northern Grizzled Skipper (Pyrgus centaureae) is a small, checkered butterfly with dark brown wings marked by white spots and bands, and a fringed edge, typically found in tundra, boreal forests, and open habitats across northern North America and parts of Eurasia. I’ve never seen this species in Minnesota, so the images above are from Colorado.
