Description
The Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia) is a medium-sized butterfly with brown wings marked by bold eyespots, orange bands, and white spots, commonly found in open areas, fields, and gardens across North and Central America. Populates Minnesota from the south each year. One of the most recognizable species in the state.
Range
It is found throughout the state but more common south than north.
