Description

The Baltimore Checkerspot (Euphydryas phaeton) is a striking butterfly with black wings patterned with white and orange spots, and an orange-and-white checkerboard pattern on the undersides, commonly found in wet meadows, marshes, and open areas near water across eastern North America.
